ESOL Lecturer
We have an exciting opportunity for a Lecturer - ESOL (English for Speakers Of Other Languages) to join the team on a full-time, fixed term basis. In return, you will receive a competitive salary of £28,372 - £39,198 per annum.

About the role:
As the Lecturer - ESOL, you will deliver high quality and effective teaching and learning to Bournemouth and Poole College ESOL students. The post holder may also act as a personal tutor to students.
The ESOL curriculum area offers a wide variety of both full-time and part-time programmes leading to a range of qualifications.
Responsibilities as our Lecturer - ESOL will include:
- Contributing to the development and delivery of a range of educational programmes including identifying learning objectives; determining, designing and producing study material; planning course/study programme delivery.
- Contributing to high quality learning experiences using a variety of teaching and learning methods.
- Ensuring that teaching is based on current best available practice and is consistent with a high standard of practice.
- Providing academic and pastoral support to students in accordance with agreed procedures.
- Creating an outstanding student experience which leads to progression or employment.
- Managing student issues within agreed protocols.
- Undertaking such other reasonable duties as the line manager may require from time to time and review this Job Description annually with the line manager.
- Participating in the College’s appraisal process and to undertake any training that may be appropriate
- Taking appropriate responsibility to ensure the health and safety of self and others
- Pursuing the achievement and integration of equal opportunities throughout all The College’s activities

As our Lecturer - ESOL, you’ll ideally have:
- Level 2 (or equivalent) English and Maths Teaching Qualification or willingness to achieve within 2 years.
- Graduate in relevant subject area.
- Teaching Qualification
- Knowledge of current evidence-based practice in field(s) of expertise
- Competent in Microsoft Office applications
- Attendance at college events ie open evenings including outside of normal working hours
