The Role:

As an Exams Administrator, you will support with the accuracy, compliance and conduct of examinations, ensuring College meets Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ) rules and regulations.

This includes ensuring student records are maintained accurately, as well as creating entries to deadlines and tracking achievements.

Responsibilities as an Exams Administrator:

  • Participate in the planning, preparation and delivery of cross-college examinations; adhering to strict and critical deadlines
  • Participate in the planning and support for Exam Access Arrangements, assisting with the implementation of these arrangements and reasonable adjustments for eligible candidates  
  • Work as part of a team that manages all aspects of the examinations process including:

- Gathering and submitting accurate entry data to Awarding Organisations

- Managing changes to entry data and meeting set deadlines

- Providing an excellent customer service to students and staff, assisting with enquiries    

  • Be trained as an invigilator and allocate other invigilators to examinations; assisting with ensuring invigilators are trained to carry out their duties in accordance with JCQ regulations
  • Participate in and support with exam achievement closedown, ensuring results are appropriately recorded to enable accurate success data to be reported; including the tracking and distribution of exam certificates
  • Work as part of a close-knit team, supporting the wider MI team and workloads at peak times 

As an Exams Administrator, you’ll ideally have: 

  • Level 2 (or equivalent) English and Maths or willingness to achieve within 2 years
  • Administrative experience in a busy office together with front line customer service experience
  • Willingness to learn JCQ and other relevant awarding bodies rules and regulations
  • Competent in Microsoft Office applications, Excel Intermediate or willingness to achieve within first year
  • Very strong attention to detail and numeracy
