We have a new opportunity available for a Lecturer in Maths to join the team with part-time and full-time hours available. In return, you will receive a competitive salary of £28,372 to £39,198 FTE per annum.

About the Lecturer in Maths role:
As a Lecturer in Maths, you will deliver high quality and effective teaching and learning in, primarily, GCSE and some Functional Skills Maths to Bournemouth and Poole College students.
You will be part of the cross-college English and Maths team who are responsible for delivering GCSE English and GCSE Maths to our 16-18 students. A small number of students may undertake Functional Skills English and Maths.
In addition, there is an adult provision delivering Functional Skills English and Maths to students aged 19+.
Responsibilities as our Lecturer in Maths will include:
- Contributing to high quality learning experiences using a variety of teaching and learning methods.
- Ensuring that teaching is based on current best available practice and is consistent with a high standard of practice.
- Providing academic support to students in accordance with agreed procedures.
- Creating an outstanding student experience which leads to the successful completion of a GCSE and Functional Skills qualification.
- Managing student issues within agreed protocols.
- Undertaking such other reasonable duties as the line manager may require from time to time and review this Job Description annually with the line manager.
- Participating in the College’s appraisal process and to undertake any training that may be appropriate
- Taking appropriate responsibility to ensure the health and safety of self and others
- Pursuing the achievement and integration of equal opportunities throughout all The College’s activities
As our Lecturer in Maths you’ll ideally have:
- Teaching Qualification
- Relevant L3 Maths Qualification
- Experience of facilitating GCSE Maths learning for students in a Further Education or an appropriate educational setting.
- Knowledge of a range of TLA strategies to successfully engage students.
- Knowledge of the content of GCSE Maths.
- Knowledge of issues relating to equal opportunities and cultural diversity.
- Knowledge of and commitment to Safeguarding Children and vulnerable adults’ legislation,
- Excellent organisational skills
- Focused on team working
- Flexible and adaptable attitude to working with students of all ages
- Communication skills
